ART GLASS DISPLAYS

DISPLAY YOUR ART GLASS WITH TRUE LIGHT

Art Glass display panel installation Instructions:
for surface mounting on walls.
Steps 1 - 16. See notes with pictures.

STEP 1

1. Have one person hold Art Glass Panel on wall, to determine preferred viewing height on wall. Have second person reach over top and place small pencil mark on wall, at hanger locations.

STEP 2

2. Place a piece of masking tape, which is wider than the hangers on the panel, over the mark and level on wall surface. Draw a level line across the masking tape strip.

STEP 3

3. Remove masking tape guide from back of panel and center the tape guide on top of masking tape on the wall. Place upper edge of tape guide, just below the level line you marked on the wall. Transfer the hanger hole locations to the wall tape and tap the supplied expanding wall hangers into wall to make small dimple in wall. Remove tape from wall and drive expanding hangers into the wall until they bottom out.

STEP 4

4. Screw the wall hanger screws in, until they bottom out. Next back screws out, so you have 1/8” between hanger and the underneath side of the screw.

STEP 5

5. You have three choices for the power wire installation: a. Hidden power wire in the walls interior. b. Hidden wire in “Wiremold” on exterior of wall. c. Wire exposed on the wall exterior.

STEP 6

6. If you are doing the hidden wire procedure go to step # 7. If you are doing the wire in a “Wire Mold”, go to step # 14. If you are doing the exposed wire procedure go to step # 15.

STEP 7

7. Hang the panel and mark a spot on the wall, underneath, where the “Wall Hole” arrow points to wall. This is where the power supply plug will come out. Note: If you choose an exterior wall to display your Art Glass on, you may experience some difficulty in feeding the snake wire down the wall because of the insulation in exterior walls. Be careful not to puncture the Kraft paper face on the insulation, when drilling your ˝” holes in step # 8.

STEP 8

8. Drill a ˝” hole, half way above this mark, so the hole will be slightly hidden when you re-hang the panel. Now drill a second ˝” hole just above the baseboard and directly below the upper hole.

STEP 9

9. Feed supplied wire snake into the top ˝” hole in the wall, the open end of hook first, with the curve of the snake toward you, so as to come out the bottom hole. Push it in and guide wire hook, down wall toward bottom hole. Idea is to get hook end of snake as close to bottom ˝” hole as possible. Push it in, until hook end hits the bottom of wall. Keep in mind that you can go out the back of the wall to an adjoining room also.

STEP 10

10. Take the short snake wire, with the attached power plug and feed it hook first into the hole. Feed it with the curve up, so it will go up into the wall cavity. The idea is to reach in and snag the hooked end of the long snake wire. This may take a little fishing; then again, you might get lucky and hook it the first time.

STEP 11

11. This step takes two people. While one person is pulling the snake slowly out of the upper hole, the other person feeds the short snake wire into the bottom hole, while keeping a little resistance, so the two hooks don’t come undone. As the short snake goes in, feed the attached power plug through the hole.

STEP 12

12. Pull slowly and feed into the bottom as needed. If you do this right, the hooks on the two snakes will stay attached. If they come loose, just remove the small snake and try again.

STEP 13
13. Pull wire out of the top hole about 12” and remove black tape from power supply plug and snake. While one person holds the panel, plug the power supply plug into the jack on bottom of panel. Feed excess wire into upper hole and hang the panel on the screw heads of the wall anchors. Now go to step # 16.

STEP 14

14. Installing the “Wiremold”: “Wiremold is available at most hardware stores. Look for # NM1 – 5’ long. Start installation by scribing a light vertical line from the center bottom of panel to the base board below. You will want to center the “Wiremold” on this line to keep it vertical. Follow instruction in “Wiremold” package for attachment. Cut “Wiremold” length 1” short of the distance from the bottom of the panel body to the base board. Install the “Wiremold” rear body section ˝” below the panel body to allow room to introduce the power wire. Plug the power cord plug into the jack on the bottom of the panel, run the power wire down the “Wiremold” rear body section and snap on the front cover. Paint the “Wiremold” to match your wall color if desired. Now go to # 16.

STEP 15

15. Exposed power wire on exterior of wall: Plug the power wire plug into the jack on the bottom of the panel. Power wire may be painted, to match wall if desired. Now go to step # 16

STEP 16

16. Place the power supply on the floor or on a lower shelf. –DO NOT COVER POWER SUPPLY OR PUT UNDER FURNITURE. The unit needs free air circulation. Plug the wireless light switch module into the closest wall receptacle. Plug the power Supply into the module. Mount the wireless switch plate in any convenient location. This allows for easy turning on and off, of your beautiful Art Glass panel.
